Hi John,

I had the chance to visit San Francisco over the Memorial Day weekend and stopped by Aqua Forest Aquarium (AFA), one of the two authorized distributors of ADA goods in the US.  I also stopped by Ocean Aquarium, a local fish shop that has over 150 running tanks.  Here are some pictures, if you would like to send it out to the other members, or included it in the next newsletter.  I would not mind presenting at a future meeting to elaborate/include more pics and answer any questions members may have.

One of two authorized distributors of ADA products in the US.
I was highly impressed with this store; their show tanks were amazing and the staff were friendly and highly knowledgeable regarding their products, plants, and livestock.  I was able to purchase some Mini Pellia/Coral Moss (Riccardia chamedryfolia), Dwarf Baby Tears (Hemianthus callitricoides), and Fire Red Cherry Shrimp; and they even provided me with a styrofoam box and heat pack for the plane ride.

ADA line of aquarium substrates.  Aquasoil Amazonia is what we talked briefly about during the last meeting; it is loaded with nutrients that plants love and softens water.  I am using this in 4 of my tanks, mostly for the pH buffering capacity as most of my shrimp like slightly acidic soft water.

There are 10 tanks about the size of a 29 gallon, that house plants for sale.  These tanks are not show tanks; they have a pretty strong current and CO2 is injected in all of them.

As you enter the store, this 120cm x 60cm x 60cm (~175 gallons) tank sits on your left, visible through the glass windows outside.
